Love, Mommy, Daddy, and Maximus

This is what God says about you.

Dear Isaac,
I know everything about you. I know what you are thinking and know where you are going and I know what you are doing every minute of the day. I know when you get up in the morning, and when you lay down to go to sleep at night.
I am always with you. Even though you can’t see it, My hand is on you and helping you. I made all of you. I made everything inside of your body and everything on the outside of your body. I took care of you while you were still inside your mother.
I created you and you are wonderful! You get excited when you create a lego project. I got excited when I created you. I want you to really know how wonderful you are because you are My creation.
When you were still inside your mom’s womb I could see you, I was with you, and I will be with you every day of your life. I think about you all the time.I want to help you so please remember to ask Me for help. I want to talk to you and hear you talk to Me.
Even when it’s hard to do something, it will be okay because you will learn and get better, and better. You will get stronger and wiser because I am Your God. Think of each hard thing you do as a war that you will win. You are My mighty warrior and have the armor of God to help you. I will give you strength and make you wise. And you can tell everyone around you how I have helped you to learn and to grow. There are other kids out there who have very hard things to do in this life too. It will be so cool for you to tell other kids that God will help them too.
You asked me to come into your life and to forgive your sins, when you believed that I died on the cross for you. I gave you my Holy Spirit to be with you and to be your Helper everyday.
Love: God in Heaven

Why PURPLE is my FAVORITE COLOR

I bought some beautiful PURPLE flowers today while I took a quiet/alone trip to the grocery store.
Purple has been my favorite color since I was a young girl. These days, however, it is my favorite color for greater reasons – Purple represents strength, perseverance, determination, fight, for pediatric stroke survivors. My son Isaac, almost 10 is one of these. His life represents these things each and every day. When the brain has been injured it can affect many areas of a person’s life. Quite honestly, I stand in AWE of the sweet, content, and well rounded young man he is – despite the fact that the truth is – in most daily things – daily communication, school, focus, relationships, physical activities, LIFE, – he rarely shows on the outside the great effort his brain is exercising to accomplishing these tasks. But sometimes on a rough day – it all comes purging out with some frustration, verbally expressed anger, and crying… AGAIN I will say – once we walk/talk through the emotions – he gets back in the game of life and carries on well. He’s a fighter! He’s a fighter, and as his mom I will never stop fighting for him. Through prayer, and every other avenue the LORD brings my way. I want to protect him when necessary, but I also want him to experience the difficulties so we can prepare him the best to understand himself, his challenges, and his God Who is bigger than it all and will ALWAYS be there to help him. I realize some cannot help but not understand how an incredibly calm and collected child could go from one extreme to another – God teaches me so much in all this – including forgiving those that may not understand, misjudge, or lack tolerance, for I can forgive them because of my own relationship with the LORD, as Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, they do not know what they do”. The Lord uses Isaac’s life everyday to inspire many. He is a fighter from day 1 – because He has God fighting for him. As Gideon was asked to go into battle – God has asked Isaac and our family to fight this battle. When Gideon feared he was adequate. God’s reply was “go in the strength you have, am I not sending you?”

God has chosen battles for us to fight in this life. All we do is go in the strength we have, and trust God to do the rest. And we can do this with confidence because we know God always wins!
