Child Like Faith

boy prayingVessel of love through a 9 year old boy…

He put his agenda aside and sat down next to the injured young boy that he barely knew. A large group of them had wandered to their home to play and were roughing it up on the backyard trampoline. While life continued all around a wounded young man was being bounced to and fro, and there was one who stopped to minister to a hurting soul. “are you okay? Are you sure you are okay? Hey you guys stop being mean to him, he is hurting right now”. He gave eye contact and a loving touch asking where he hurt. His mother watched as he laid his gentle hand upon the boy and without hesitation and without fear of what anyone else would think prayed “Heavenly Father, please heal him, in Jesus name, Amen”.

It was a beautiful moment for a mama to observe. For she knows the battles faced each day in this imperfect family, saved by grace. She knows the very specific heart cry of prayers she has prayed over her children for their genuine salvation and growth in the Lord. She knows that very morning the things the Lord had shown her of areas to zone in on in pursuit of getting to the heart of her children.  Areas needed for growth.

She knows what a beautiful gift God gives to His children. How the Savior’s own sacrifice on the cross, through repentance and faith makes one clean and righteous before a Holy God. That in spite of the continuing work of sanctifying us and setting us further and further away from sin, that because of His precious shed blood and His indwelling spirit within us, He flows through us and of all amazing things, considers us worthy.

She knows when she sees her son responding in such ways, that he is grasping the love His Savior has for him that stopped his own agenda, took time to meet the need of another. She is hopeful of the work God is doing in her son, as well as beyond what she may even know into the lives of others. That in spite of the daily battles of sin and repentance, that there truly is power, power, wonder working power through the precious shed blood of the lamb.

And she sees a child like faith that is unafraid to speak the name of Jesus to strangers – and would consider it no other way.  She is moved to consider how she can be more bold in her faith in doing the same.

So You Want to Prosper

cross of christGod’s favor and blessings are already upon all genuine believers in Him! Nothing we have to pray ourselves into, it’s a done deal. When we laid down our life and received His gift of Salvation and freedom from sin and hell, we were stamped with His approval. Adopted into His family and promised His blessings that lead to eternity!

Many great men of faith who all labored for the Lord. In particular I will mention Apostle Paul. Considered blessed in all his circumstances. He was blessed with strength in His weakness, grace daily to win souls for God’s kingdom. Apostle Paul walked in assurance that He was favored by God and reaping the blessings in Christ Jesus alone-He cherished simply what Christ had done for him and wanted to share that message to as many he could! His labor was for eternal purposes. The labor of each man of faith in the bible that labored for the Lord, was in the purpose of prospering the church, prospering in things that mattered only for eternity.

So when we here God will prosper us. When we read the many scriptures on prospering, favor and blessings. We can remember that comes from the mind of Christ. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9” The earthly, fleshly standard of prosperity focuses on material and things seen. True biblical prosperity means prospering through tough, rugged, weakness, and through blessings that God bestows to each of His children. He may allow a hardship and it would be a blessing to make that man more spiritually stronger than ever before. It may be a new car, or a new boat, but seeing God move in the midst of it all and ALL being received and used for HIS ETERNAL PURPOSES. God chooses and wills for each of us how He will move in our lives.

But whatever we do- fight a disease, go through trials and tribulations, drive new car, get a new home, WHATEVER “but whatever we do, do it for the glory of God”. 1 Cor. 10:31. Use it as in honor to Him, for His purposes that are always meant for purposes beyond here and now but for eternity.

Like apostle Paul said – “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:  I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Phil. 4:11  He was content because His fixation was the things that will last for eternity. His dependence was on God and his trust in God. Paul knew God was ALWAYS FOR HIM in any circumstance, and that faith did not waiver.

Jesus laid it all, ALL, ALL, down – and simply said. “not my will but yours be done”. His labor was for an eternal purpose, and the GREATEST reward that came was for an eternal purpose. Those who receive His sacrifice that allows us to prosper forever, by the mind of Christ, is sealed at the moment of conversion.

I testify to this message of prosperity. This may go against the thinking of some who read this. I can testify that God has truly prospered me and my family through trials, difficulties, pain. He has given us more strength to continue this walk of faith and brought us so much closer to Him through the battles of blessings He has allowed for a greater good. I can see how it has increased our faith (prospering us), and making us ready as we move onward to the day we get to see His glorious shining face. When we get to stand before Him, without blemish or stain, declared righteous and fitting to enter into the Holy of Hollies. ~Amen!

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” Col. 3:1

Satisfying A Hungry Soul

deerHow beautifully the Lord would steer me in His direction at the break of the day, with an impromptu study HE put on my heart, because He knows all things from beginning to end and knows just what we’ll need. (all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.- Psalm 139:16). He prepared us perfectly for the day ahead and the things to come, with a study on “deer”.

A small reading on deer and facts, with an additional page He placed on my heart of bible scripture to tie in on deer with biblical application.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” Psalm 42:1

What perfect timing God has to get to the hearts of us all. As this was the last on our schedule for school time and we all needed this exact biblical application. One child, feeling stressed today. One child needing extra self control. One mama needing patience to finish strong.

The worksheet the Lord had me create this morning…

What does it really mean to have our souls thirsty for the living God?

When we are feeling icky, stressed, worried, sad and troubled and struggling in any way it means our souls are thirsty for the living God. Do you ever thirst for the living God? (a simplified version for  maturity level)

How perfect that we ALL were definitely thirsting at that moment in our own way. Each one feeling off kilter in our own struggle. Our souls needed an extra dose of the Living Water.

What should we do when our souls are thirsty?

Beautiful answers came from the mouth of “child like faith”: Pray, and read the bible.

What a beautiful moment to wrap up our day, pausing, bowing our heads, and each one asking God to fill a thirsty soul. For one, it was the prayer of “please fill me with peace”, for another “please fill me with self-control”, and for another “please fill me with patience” – in Jesus name amen.

I’ve been considering a lot what this verse truly means lately as well:

“delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” Ps. 37:4

I’m finding it means spending less time everywhere else in the things that attempt to fill me, yet only leave me striving for more and never satisfied, to using those times that I would be “prone to wander” to that empty filling to turn right around and walk into the presence of Jesus in worship, prayer, and reading His word.  And OH!  How a satisfied and full soul, full of more and more of Jesus will bring the benefit of pure, simple, and the most BEAUTIFUL of reward.

“for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Ps. 107:9

I heard this song the other day.   Ties in beautifully.  Enjoy.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESLast summer I seriously wondered how I would do another year of home schooling. But I KNEW it was God’s plan and vision and so it had to be possible. Not in my strength, and not in accomplishing things in the same way, it would be a new season.

Through prayer the Lord graciously showed me practical things in this new season that have led to me finding rest, calm, peace, joy and strength to carry on. Along with this, after a lonely season of trusting Him, His provision has been beautiful through loving people within the body of Christ coming along side our family. A season of home schooling that has been ONE of the most rewarding. Praise be to a gloriously, gracious, loving God!

Coming to a wrap on this home school season, a few weeks ago I began to once again feel completely drained and exhausted. So the Lord decided it was time to give me another “MISSION” that I wasn’t sure was totally His mission initially because it kind of seemed impossible with compared to how I felt. With much prayer and surrender – “Lord I want to be in your perfect will, please reveal Your will through confirmation with a peace and assurance in my soul.”

And He confirmed SO vividly and so precisely to my request. He is so gracious.

The enemy of fear had come initially sweeping in, causing me to doubt how I would take on this NEW MISSION SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE, because I considered only my flesh and how weak I felt.

With surrender to His will, He had confirmed this was indeed our next MISSION and I no longer doubted “HOW?”, I just began to take one day at a time and trust.

The story of Gideon came to me this morning. As he faced a MISSION THAT SEEMED IMPOSSIBLE. “how Lord will I do this?” The Lord said: “go in the strength you have, am I not sending you?”. Gideon went and found victory by God’s power and strength. (Judges 6:14)

So this MISSION IMPOSSIBLE we started a few weeks ago? How is that going? Supernaturally wonderful! I smile wide and rejoice hugely, because it’s thus far, been a piece of cake. Why? Because God’s grace and strength is obviously upon us!!!!

We have started a new program for brain integration therapy that entails much more. Special resources targetting the areas I have still yearend in my heart to have more breakthroughs in, for us to expand what has already been built and established. I am excited at the work God is doing and will continue to do. I was warned it would be grueling and intensive. At this point, it has not! It’s been amazing, wonderful, victory filled already, and been a HUGE HUGE JOY and blessing. “go in the strength you have, am I not sending you?”.

You see there is a GREAT MISSION God has in mind here. It isn’t REALLY about brains and neuro pathways. It is something SO MUCH GREATER, it’s about HEARTS transformed by Him! Truly all that we have in this life He uses to mold and shape us into who He created and planned for us to be. Using the things we considered impossible, and the weak to show His love and power. EACH member of this family,God uses to bring about His purposes. There is the one that is the hard worker, then the prayerful encourager, the leader, the helpmate… and on and on… “now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Cor. 12:27

If I think about the life of Jesus. It was in His place of perfect humble submisison, Lord not my will but yours be done, when in His flesh completely weak and broken, that He gave it all, for the sake of VICTORY! It was God’s plan and mission to accomplish the GREATEST VICTORY!!

And I”m learning, when I do the same. Die to self (and this has been a process of dying for me), be humbly submitted to His will, that I find sweet VICTORY.

I don’t know what lies ahead and when weary days may come again, but what I can know is when God gives me a MISSION it is never IMPOSSIBLE. His grace is more than enough.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Cor. 12: 9 -10

Whatever your MISSION TODAY, may God’s GRACE come sweeping through to make that a MISSION POSSIBLE!!!!
