“Homeschooling allows you the freedom to step off the highway of learning and take a more scenic route along a dirt road.” T.L.C.
Children are learning in the freedom to exercise their God given unique interests. To see our children as God sees them, is written in the Bible. We take from Him daily, and apply to ourselves, and pour out into our children. God ordains TIME and TIMING. When we obey Romans 12 and stop conforming to the patterns and man made systems of this world, when we renew our minds according to the standards of the One Who created us, and foreknew us before the foundations of the world, we find freedom to trust God’s timing for our children’s all encompassing education. Education that first starts, in the Christian home with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything flows from Him. Not head to head knowledge, rather “Heart to Heart” teaching to the whole of the child and God’s all encompassing well-being.
“My son, give me your heart…” Proverbs 23:26
Each child is maturing, ready for more, in God’s appointed time. Manmade measuring sticks to measure timing of a child’s progress, is futile in Light of the all knowing, ordained Perfect Timing of God the Creator and Savior. Jesus Christ came according to the exact moment and Perfect wisdom and timing to fulfill the promised coming, sacrifice, Salvation to all Who will receive and are His called children.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…” Eccl. 3:1
The total engaging in the unique people He created for His glory, in the calling, ministry-the Greatest Cause for the building up lives to know their need for a Savior, and to trust God will equip us daily, to equip them, for the Kingdom of God and for His glory.
Class is in session-24-7!
“The gospel isn’t one class among many that you’ll attend during your life as a Christian – the gospel is THE WHOLE BUILDING that ALL CLASSES take place in! Rightly approached, all topics you’ll study and focus on as a believer will be offered to you ‘within the walls’ of the glorious gospel” – C. Mahaney, The Cross Centered Life
Maximus has been building. He has learned from reading and watching. He is learning as he applies. What works. What doesn’t. Using his creativity. I am thankful for EVERY tree God provided for him to climb in the places we took him throughout his upbringing. It’s also a blessing we now have trees to climb and create fort caves in our own yard. Collection from surroundings for fir roof. Collection of moss for insulation inside. Made this spear out of all things natural. Yet, last night, he realized it was not sturdy enough, so he used sap to see if it would work as strong glue to fortify. He made an outside stool, using a perfect fir tree branch in a unique coiled formation for a cushion. Last night he sat on it to read and think.
We have many goals we are working to achieve to “graduate” him in the next few months. It’s a celebration of progress, milestones, and into a new season. For we know, God created us to learn, grow, and never stop. His continued work in our lives, until we meet Him in glory.
Parents are blessed by the loving God of the universe Who blesses us with children to train up, depending on our relationship with our Savior, to cover by His amazing grace. The magnitude of how we as parents, learn, and grow! And, even when we realize, as Max did that one way wasn’t working for his go at a spear, by God’s grace and wisdom, we go forth, switch it up, and find that better way, to fortify. God directs our steps.
“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior…” Psalms 127:3-5
