“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Is. 40:31
I announced to my sons this afternoon, I was going into my bubble outside for awhile today. They know what this means. It means, my brain is just tired. No answering questions, no calculating math, no listening to scientific facts. They know mom is going to “just be”. Be quiet, still, resting my thoughts. Just resting in Jesus. He is in control.
I assigned each son a dish to make in preparation for evening dinner. They were happy to oblige. This gives an opportunity to work together, and hone in on important life skills. This gives me an opportunity to rest.
I sat here, soaking in the warmth of the sun. So amazing. Not trying to figure out anything. Remembering all the prayers I have prayed in the past week. Remembering God’s promises. And just resting in the truth. Jesus Christ is love and power.
After a bit I had texted my son, asking if he had any bubbles. Sitting in my quiet “bubble” space, I thought blowing some bubbles sounded so very nice. He never even replied back, but in an instant, here is this gentlemen, happy to accommodate this lady, and serve up not one, but two bottles of “miracle bubbles”. (I thought the name was pretty funny) and then just as quick as he came to serve, he went back inside the house because he wanted me to treasure my quiet time.
When bubble blowing was over,
I looked at the rose bushes and decided I was going to prune. Yes, it was actually totally peaceful, totally restful. Totally fulfilling. It’s a new undertaking for me, caring for rose bushes. I saw this little sign of “HOPE”.
How incredible that it is the time of the year, just wrapping up harsh winter, and barren trees and more, and look at “all those thorns”. It reminded me of life. How we can be going through some real trials of life (harsh winter season), and also feel so many thorns of life that poke, hurt, and seem so many, everywhere. As we take our eyes off the thorns, and onto this sign: HOPE, we can walk by faith, not by sight. We are no longer viewing the thorns, but focused on HOPE in God. We can also know that through another season of pruning, which God promises for the good of His children, and which cuts away the things in our life that are not good, it allows for, new life to shoot out, and Spring forth. Beauty Springs forth. Fruit is produced. Seeing past the thorns of life that hurt and are painful, we are promised a new season, where God produces again!
Waiting. Persevering in persistent prayer, in faith, in obedience, in sanctification, in service. We hope for so much that is all for the Kingdom of God. We are pruned by the Mighty Loving hand of God. We have hope, we are transformed through it all. He produces life, as we rest in trust, He is able to perfect that which concerns us today.
Confident hope that God is always working on our behalf, with the desires of our heart for the very issues of life, that matter to not only us, but Him. Eternally Kingdom minded heart’s desires. He hears and answers our prayers.
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12
“do not grow weary in doing good, you will reap a harvest if you do not lose heart” Galatians 6:9
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” John 15:1-2
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing…If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:5-7
