Discouragement, crushing blows of the enemy, fatigue, can bring her low in despair. Overwhelmed, and feeling defeated. Feelings are not truth. She offers all she has left, with hope to rise again, with newfound courage and strength. She offers tears and prayers. She remembers the Father already knows what she needs before she even asks. She remembers those who sow in tears, will reap shouts of joy. (Ps. 126:5)The scriptures are at the forefront of her thoughts as she awakes to a new day, by the mercies of God. Those tears have been blessed. She pictures herself so low and weak and the shining brilliance of the Light above from the throne room of heaven upon her, and His truth in the scriptures, that as she boasts in her weaknesses, Christ’s power rests on her. 2 Cor. 12:9. The scriptures began to unravel and flow more and more, like a beautiful song over her (He will rejoice over you with singing – Zeph. 3:17). Then, these Words struck her profoundly, for it was just the very inspiration she needed. ” Let not mercy and truth forsake you. Bind them on your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart”. She rises to this new day, strengthened by the saving work of God Prov. 3:2-4
This is my story. That I may share it with you. I went to the couch and had a visual of a simple stick figure girl. I felt compelled to draw it. Ordinary girl, simple stick figure, with emphasis on MERCY and TRUTH. God is merciful. His truth sustains. Together they do a mighty fine work. A necklace bound around her neck – mercy and truth stamped permanently on her heart. As I began to draw, I questioned what to do with those hands? And it came to me, one piece at a time, to dress her with the armor of God, even down to the cute little shoes of the gospel of PEACE. She is clothed, not with shame, despair, fear, or any lie, but with TRUTH, with STRENGTH, WITH DIGNITY. She is clothed in a robe of righteousness through Jesus Christ her Lord. Thanks be to God! The path under her is one of trusting fully in Him, acknowledging Him (not the opposition of the many voices and philosophies, or circumstances no matter how difficult they seem)believing He will direct this path. Great is His faithfulness! She recalls this again and again! His name is faithful and true! She is more than a conqueror through the Salvation of her Lord.
May you be blessed today and always with the overflowing love of our Mighty God Who saves.
“What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?…. No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Rom. 8:31-37
