God never forgets His children. “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Deut. 31:6. Often it doesn’t make sense in my own understanding. My emotions can often lead me to “feeling” alone. But we never are. And God’s WORD and truth of His Sovereignty over His children, always gives me faith to believe that He is working all things together for His good. Rom. 8:28
God’s timing kept our family “here” today. And not there. In my “own” understanding, I felt a sting. That’s okay because as I trust in the LORD with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding, in all my ways acknowledge Him, He will direct my path. (Prov. 3:5-6).
And He so did!
If we hadn’t been in the PLACE OF GOD, I wouldn’t have seen this work God wanted to orchestrate so pertinent to His plan specific for our children, for us. “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper and give you a hope” Jer. 29:11
The Lord over ruled my emotions that would have left me feeling “left out” or “forgotten”, even “afraid” and abiding in a lie, I trusted in His Word, that says “In His Time He Makes all things beautiful”. As He directed our path to the simplicity of a family, morning walk, He made beautiful things happen. Things way more important than what my emotions and flesh had leaned toward as important, the quick fleshly thinking, right before God’s WORD over ruled all that.
The things that matter for eternity. The things that bring my greatest joy as a mother. No greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the truth. 1 Jn. 3
My Maximus. He noticed the vines from a very large tree. “mom, I was reading in my quiet time with God in Genesis, that Joseph was called a fruitful vine”. To hear this young man, who I pray for daily, seek, seek for wisdom to train him up. This little boy who absorbs so much, in an instant, whatever he experiences, takes in deeply through the senses, holds onto, and I must seek the Lord how to help him walk through this life to learn how to handle it all and thrive in this special way God made him.
The vine. He absorbed this information, and had the opportunity to share. There is so much inside of him, the desperate need to share it. Training him up, in how, when, to manage all that he experiences. Because we were not “there” today, but IN THE PLACE OF GOD, the Lord revealed this moment to then sit together as a family and apply what this “fruitful vine” really means.
You see it was Jacob who was speaking to his sons his last words before parting from this earth. And Joseph, he recognized as a “fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall” Gen. 49:22 These words were to encourage his son that even in the midst of hostility and conflict, trials, and more, – that he saw his son grow and prosper and knew that would be his way of life. A a vine bearing much fruit.
For later Joseph himself declared the recognition of the Sovereignty of God, when he told his brothers, in so many words “it’s all good”. The difficulty and the places as hard as they were that he was placed in… even still “Isn’t this the place of God?” Gen. 50:19-21 Recognizing and giving glory to God who brought it all together for His glorious purposes and good. It didn’t seem like the right place to be sold into slavery, a far off land, in a lonely time and place. As it goes, Joseph remained with his faith intact in God. Trusting in Him and leaning not on his own understanding. In God’s timing He made all things beautiful!
What a wonderful thought, not only as me as a mother, but also in celebrating Father’s day tomorrow. How father and mother, as Jacob left words of encouragement, and speaking blessing into his son, we have this opportunity today, to speak blessing into both our sons.
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[a] 10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you[b] to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. Col. 1:9-12
All that concerned my heart today. The yearnings I know of our boys hearts. The desires we have, we surrender. And Believe in the Sovereign One who works all things together for good, a GOOD that goes way beyond here and now and the things of this earth, but for the things that matter for the PLACE WHERE WE BELONG – ETERNITY- CHRIST’s KINGDOM FOREVER.
“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Phil 1:6
THE QUESTION IS: AM I IN THE PLACE OF GOD?
the answer is YES!
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
John 15:7-9
