Fierce Winds-Freezing Rain – What Shall I do In the Storms of Life?

This morning started with greeting my Lord, looking out the window to see fierce winds and freezing rain.  My son brought in this little icicle pulled off our shed out back.

But as I ventured into the morning, the continued ringing in the listening ears of my heart, repeated “Tell of Thy Wonderful Works”.

You see yesterday afternoon I went grocery shopping and apparently a good portion of the town was there shopping too.  Stocking up for the coming of the storm, I suppose.  I personally was simply shopping due to the fact that we were slim pickings on the food in our household, and it was simply time to shop so we could eat again.

There was a  beauty of all beauties in the middle of rushing, busyness, masses of shopping carts zooming in fast paced manner.  What was this beauty?  I bumped into a Sister in Christ I have not seen in a long time.  We proceeded to pull our carts off to the side, and chat.  We shared the wonders of Jesus.  We shared some storms of life, yet in those storms the beauty of Jesus absolutely, 100% at work.

God is at work, in people’s lives and hearts.  Drawing, drawing.  His light shines in the darkness.

What a gift to talk with a Sister, when all was hustling and bustling around us.  I miss these in person, times of sharing with Sisters in Christ the wonderful works of God.  I appreciate these moments more and more with the raging storms of life in this dark world that is passing away.  To be still, fellowship, give praises and acknowledge God’s presence and working!

This is the LIGHT of JESUS shining.  How many events happen each day like this?  We must proclaim the GOOD NEWS and Who Christ is, and What He has done, and is doing.  This world desperately needs the GOOD NEWS of JESUS CHRIST the LORD.

TELL OF HIS WONDERFUL DEEDS!

I reflected on this gift of yesterday.  The things I was able to take home with me, to praise God and rejoice in, and also carry to the Lord particular prayer needs.

I want to share the passion of Jesus Christ through all times.  Knowing the greatest gift God has given – Jesus Christ the Son to save our souls.

I am home today with my sons.  The Lord inspired me to pray over them in this specific way, that they would be able to comprehend, articulate, write, personal experiences in witnessing in others, God’s wonderful works, as well as in their own life.

We opened the Scriptures to Psalms 105.  I shared a few thoughts.  I gave them their assignment.  TELL OF GOD’S WONDERFUL WORKS.

Pertaining to each member in our family.  Pertaining to their own personal relationship with Christ.  Pertaining to their relationships with one another.

The Lord sure did a WONDERFUL WORK, only by His Spirit.  I read journal entries from each son, written from their hearts, inspired by the Lord and His absolute directing!

These personal writings, were special.  Insightful.  Encouragement to my soul!  And I believe encouragement to their own souls!

There is something to be said about TELLING OF GOD’s WONDERFUL WORKS.

As the physical storms manifest out back, there are the real life, storms that happen to us as Believers.  Storms that rock us around, shake us up, and get our attention.  Who or what are we going to hold onto?  In our family, we all can testify, to JESUS our solid rock, firm foundation that will never crumble, holding us up, building us up, finishing His work.

And in the midst of these storms, we see God’s wonderful works! Though some things may crumble because of no value for the life to come and God’s purposes, some areas of life we say good-bye to perhaps was only there for a season, and time to move on in God’s continued plans. There is pain and grieving, yet we say hello to GAIN in JESUS CHRIST, and the building work of His Kingdom.  To His praise and glory.

Today, in the wind and freezing rain out back, we saw a WONDERFUL WORK OF GOD.  Tiny little birds, flying in the wind, going to and fro about their business.  I mean, how can such a tiny little creature be unaffected by the cold?  Not dropping from the fierce conditions.  Clearly, pressing on, carried by God’s might and power.

This is the life of a Believer in Christ.  God’s preservation through the fiercest storms.  Many things may crumble around us, many things that turn to rubbish that we say good-bye to and walk away from, many good things, that are not profitable for our specific lives, but as the birds of the skies – we keep our focus.  For us, it is focus on JESUS CHRIST.

My sons journals testify to Jesus Christ their solid rock, foundation.  And I share this, because there has been much opposition to our choices to home school, to walk away from much “good”, but not God’s plan for us.  Writing and articulating is not and has not always been easy, but rather almost impossible for a long time for us here.

As we press on, believing, focused, on the ONE WHO calls us to “come” to Him, and believe, He gets the glory.  We boast in Him.

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His wondrous works!
 Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
 Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
 Remember His marvelous works which He has done,”

Psalms 105:1-5

It’s absolutely miraculous to seek God and gain Spiritual riches more beautiful than words can even tell –  that compel us to TALK OF HIS WONDROUS WORKS, give thanks, sing, and give Him glory due His name. ONLY through Christ Jesus the Lord!

“What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ  and be found in him,”

Phil. 3:8-9

Let us TELL.  TELL OF GOD’S WONDERFUL WORKS!

 “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.  Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Romans 12:11-12
