It just wasn’t God’s plan for us. Grateful for a God who shows His plan. “we can do all things through Christ Who gives us strength” Phil 4:13 was on my heart all day first with coming down with a cold, but also, reflecting as I took the boys on a special trip today. We drove through Dutch Bros. for our hot drinks, and then swung by a place to share a story. A building that he was in once when he was 3. We left there that day, knowing that for our boy, for our family this was not where God would place him-God made that clear with a vision for “our” family. “you cannot teach your son – we are concerned with your choice” we were told .. and a faith journey began of clinging to Deut. 6 -teach your children diligently, day and night. The point is, we as parents were questioned as to what was best for our son. Yet in faith, we knew God gave us the authority and His word to do what was best for our son. Sharing this story with my boys today was such a huge treat! Look at our life, look how far God has taken him, taken all of us and how very thankful for the journey He has taken us on and the things we would not have, had we not weighed our decisions with God’s word. Now who knew the truth? Truth be told we could indeed do this, ONLY through the POWER that works in us – JESUS HIMSELF. Eph 3:20-21
A drive through Dutch Bros, a drive to that building that we did not keep him in, a drive to Multnomah Falls together as brothers. Loving and learning, in way, God perfectly had in mind for our family. I can see the gratitude in their hearts. I truly can. There was a time, when they didn’t understand. Now, they can reflect with me, and see the glories of God and be thankful with me.
We arrived back home for Isaac to embrace his place. “ahhh, he says, cozy sweet home”
As my Maximus said to me today later on after we arrived home for studies. “mom, you are doing a great job with us. Understanding us, teaching us, I am going to give you a gift. Thank you mom, I love you mom (and all sealed with a kiss).”
And as my Maximus wrote in his journal today. “I am thankful that I can do all through through Christ who gives me strength” Phil. 4:13
I just say, thank you JESUS for everything. You are the faithful ONE. You are everything to me!
