Total Maximus Adventure!
I looked down at Maximus’ camera bag yesterday and saw something peculiar. Asked him what it was, and I learned something new.
Pretty INCREDIBLE!
I saw a tiny body, and a matching in size empty skin side by side. I did not get a picture of both, as the skin flew quickly away in wind. But of all the hilarious and incredible things, this is a dragonfly larvae in it’s one of many, up to 12 transformations before turning into a full adult.
Generally speaking this event will happen as it rises out of water onto an aquatic plant. This one however hopped out of water and onto my son’s camera bag! Seems as if God brought this event straight to us, to see His wonderful transforming works He accomplishes in His creation.
Is He accomplishing His continued transforming works in us? As believers in Christ, we will yearn to be transformed by God. How many times will we transform? Over and over again, often through grueling processes, ridding our “flesh”, one more layer, to reveal greater transformation. Of course God’s Mighty scriptures, are a tool to refine us, as we apply in obedience and submission to our Lord. The scriptures strip away the sin, and accomplish greater maturity and life.
This dragonfly, is in the Mighty hand of God, totally in the cycle of life, receiving it’s transformation-without thought.
People made in the image of God, must come and surrender our lives, our sin nature, and give up our own will to live life our way, and trade it for a life ready to receive God’s transforming work.
This dragonfly larvae looks small and funky now, but through such repeated process, will turn into a beautiful, shimmering, fully mature in radiant color, full on dragonfly. To the praise and glory of God!
And people who receive Christ and choose Him daily as their Lord, He will be faithful to take us through daily process of maturing, all the way into total completion as we fly into eternity with Him .
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, ARE BEING TRANSFORMED into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Cor. 3:18
