Light My Way – Morning Poem – Morning Prayer

I begin another day.  I sit on my couch, light a candle. Think about Jesus.  Open His Word.  And I pray.

Light my way, Lord Jesus
Light my way
Be my guide again, today
Open my eyes, Lord Jesus
Open my eyes
That I may truly see
Thy way, Thy will, Thy Love, Thy Truth, and live
Obediently
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord Jesus
Clean again, remove the clouds of a fleshly mind
remove all that would blind-
remove sin
So that Your glowing Light of love and truth
may be ever increasing, bright in my life
Increase in me, Lord Jesus
I must decrease
Increase in me
Stir up the fire, fan the flame in my soul
May my greatest desire be to live
for You alone
Look to Jesus, oh my soul
Look to Jesus
The Word to guide my way
Draw me quickly, Lord Jesus
Draw me unto You,
when I go astray
Look to the Light
Draw nearer to Christ
Darkness, darkness, in this world
Look!
Fire, Power, Authority, Might!
Jesus Christ is LORD!
Jesus Light my way
You created this day
morning to evening through the night
It’s all Yours
And so am I
When the fire of affliction touches down on me
Thank You Jesus, Thank You
the promise this will be for Your glory
Thank You Jesus
Thank You
You are my Perfect Light and my Salvation
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” 1 Peter 1:6
“You are my Light and my Salvation” Ps. 27
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Ps. 119:105
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Jn 8:12
“He must increase, but I must decrease.” Jn 3:30
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.” 1 Chron. 29:11
