My Son, Give Me Your Heart – Proverbs 23:26

Yesterday morning I spotted him drawing water out of our backyard mud puddle.  He is saving it for experiments later in day.

As my shirt reads: MAXIMUS ADVENTURES (little plug for my son’s website:  maximusadventures.com)

I am so thankful for this son.  So thankful for both our sons.  Each one unique.  Our oldest is at work today.

So thankful God gives to us wisdom for our children. So thankful for prayer and that God directs our steps.
The Lord has impressed upon us to home school him, at least another year before graduating.

I am so excited because I really needed guidance to next steps. It’s so amazing how present our Lord truly is!

God blessed us with a few new pieces to enhance his academics. I am thrilled about one new piece, a critical thinking skills curriculum.

It’s incredible material, that challenges, strengthens, enhances, such an important and crucial element in being able to process through the wide array of critical thinking in all that pertains to life. Always with God’s Word, but with methods in the curriculum to challenge, with creativity, and more..

seriously working the very neurological pathways of the brain to strengthen. Did you know the frontal cortex of brain continues to develop into early twenties?

Our kids need time, love, God’s Word, and a whole lot of prayer. Each is so unique and wonderfully made by God.

I am grateful we are gifted with the knowledge to do things according to God’s will and timing for our sons.

I am so thankful for the gift to teach this son. I am also so blessed that though we had initially considered he would graduate this summer,

when we presented to him, what we believed was important, that he didn’t even flinch. It was the most heartfelt response of TRUST and complete honor,

in us as his parents, and and trust in God. It was an, “okay mom. That sounds great to me”.  All in and ready to learn more and be challenged.

I say this because GOD IS AWESOME. The greatest teaching is the scriptures to the heart. It’s beautiful.

It’s the wonder working power of the Lord. Christ Jesus is our wisdom, help, strength, ability, hope, and SALVATION.

“To know wisdom and instruction,
To perceive the words of understanding,
To receive the instruction of wisdom,
Justice, judgment, and equity;
To give prudence to the simple,
To the young man knowledge and discretion—
A wise man will hear and increase learning,
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
My son, hear the instruction of your father,
And do not forsake your mother’s teaching,
For they will be a graceful ornament on your head,
And chains about your neck.”
Proverbs 1

God is faithful. In the very beginning I cried out for wisdom to parent our sons.

“Getting to the Heart of Your Child” was a provision and answer to my prayer.

When we seek Him with all our hearts, GOD will always bring what we need! I saw the provision along the path.

It’s so important to recognize the sprinkling of Manna that falls down from Heaven to provide for our journey,

take it up, thank God for it, use it. And be filled again and again to the praise of the glory of God.

It’s dangerous to want it all now. We expect it to happen a certain way. Our way.

Then when God has brought that one bit of Manna, we miss out seeing it as the very provision handed to us from God.

We may miss the opportunity to take up and use what God has given us. May we recognize, use, and not waste or toss aside

the very provision God has given in order to give us strength for a successful journey. Trusting God one day to next, applying His Word,

food to our soul, applying the counsel, wisdom, and more. Applying, means effort on our part. Using what God has given, without complaint.

Praying for the eyes of our heart to surrender our will, way, and see the provision of Jesus Christ the Lord and Manna from heaven,

Who carried our sin to the cross, and carries every genuine Believer onward day by day.

The Adventure continues…

May you be blessed in knowing and walking in relationship with Jesus Christ the Lord.
My first devotional of the day in my email was titled:

ACTION VERBS-based on this scripture, Deut. 11:18-20

“Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand,

and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children,

speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way,

when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates,”

Notice all the action verbs. Faith takes action.
To the praise of the glory of God.
