Love people. Not the world’s corrupt value system.
Satan is the little “g” – god of this world.
Satan’s system promotes the three sins listed in verse above. Selfish desires.
We leave the world when we come to Christ.
We forsake our own ways. We forsake the values of Satan offered in this world.
We make our priorities according to God Almighty’s ETERNAL value system.
No one can serve two masters.
We CANNOT be devoted to God AND the world.
Becoming a child of God means we EXIT the world’s rat race. We become citizens of another kingdom.
We realize what is TRULY IMPORTANT is ETERNAL, NOT TEMPORAL.
We stop loving the world.
To continue to love the world, cripples our Spiritual growth.
Jesus said strong words to make a strong point, to take seriously. If we love ANYTHING more than Him, we are not worthy of Him.
“he who loves father or mother MORE than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me, is not worthy of Me. And he who DOES not take up his cross, and follow after Me, is not worthy of Me. ” Matthew 10:37-38
Children of God deny ourselves, deny the world. We reverence in our deepest desires to make our priority to obey God by His Word. Share the Gospel. This is following Jesus. We are truly His disciples.
John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life”
God loves sinners. He hates all sin. He offers new life, that is separated from sin, and in an abiding relationship with Him, now and into eternity.
