At the side of my house on an afternoon mission.
Sat under our little drooping tropical tree, resting and sipping tea.
A little friend came to visit me. Short stay, a touch from heaven you see.
God gives little gifts, just when we need.
A bit of peace, a touch of love, a moment to be still
and abide in the perfect covering of God above.
A tender touch, abiding in the Son, a gentle breeze,
a visit from this little one. One day.
One day, I too will fly away, to live with my Savior forever.
How can it be that in the midst of life’s battles,
God’s grace swoops down and quickly unravels
the grip that felt so tight around my heart,
setting me free, as He would impart, these Words,
inscribed on my little cup, and compel me to look and see:
“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you.” 2 Thess. 3:16
