With JOY set before her in a morning of awakening to the mercies of her King..
In a still small voice she heard, “be thankful”. She no longer felt overwhelmed by the pile high stack of dishes in the sink calling her attention, nor the responsibilities of the day ahead, but rather an overwhelming flow of love, assurance, goodness, of the immense blessings God has bestowed upon her life.
She fires up the many varieties of lights in her home. One reads, “Family is a gift” another reads, “God Bless Our Home”. Others have no words, but communicate such beauty with only shimmering light it sends forth.
For it was Jesus with JOY set before Him, Who endured the cross, overcame every burden of sin, fear, pain and gave her life. Jesus the Light of the world. He is her gracious King. He invites her to “come” and come in confidence and boldness. Weary. Worn. “Come” and find rest. “Come” and drink again and again from the well that never runs dry.
So she does. She again holds out her cup as He graciously fills it up to overflowing. Supplying her with all she needs.
She is satisfied in Who He is, forgiving, compassionate, tender, strong, able, all powerful, faithful Lord. She is satisfied in Him. His endless love that continues to shape her daily into His good and perfect plan.
She knows she is in the Father’s hands and He will never let go. A Father, the Potter. She is the clay. In His strong, secure, loving, purposeful hands, being shaped, molded, pieces removed that need to be stripped away, so that He Who has begun a good work, in His faithfulness completes it.
He loved her “then”, loves her now, loves her forever. He called her long ago to “come”. She did. Laid down her former life to receive this life everlasting. Submitting herself into His hands, in obedience to His commands, trust in His promises, receiving endless grace for her weaknesses, Her King Whose love never fails.
“Be thankful” sets the tone of the heart. Power of His Word when obeyed sets forth joy and life. With the tone of the heart set well, all blessings of His Word, prayer, promises, comfort, love, peace, security, strength, hope…and more come flooding the heart, mind, soul. Boldness to do that which He calls her to do today.
She will approach His throne many times a day. With praise, thanksgiving, desires, pleas, and her cup will be continually filled. She will feel His hands as she is molded and shaped as He conforms her more into His image.
She will “be thankful”.
