Brotherly Love-An Offer to Spit and Make Mud. Coyote in a Thicket? Miracles of Daily Grace.

We’ve got issues. A question we often ask each other around here… You got issues? And we often say,  yep sure do! Issues of the heart. Health issues. Life issues.

And then we have something greater! We’ve got grace! God’s amazing Grace!
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Cor. 12: 9

We’ve got God’s power! Power so strong, so beyond what our finite minds can comprehend. Power, power, wonder working power, through the precious blood of the lamb. Power that is made perfect in our weakness.

We’ve got miracles! Do you see the miracles? The miracle of pressing on to another day when the start of the day is exhaustion? The miracle of a few minutes of rest between serving and loving precious lives? The miracle of the tiniest of achievements accomplished? Miracles of milestones? Miracle of a changed attitude, heart, and mind in yourself or the lives of loved ones? The miracle of daily needs being met? Peace that surpasses understanding? Miracles in your friends lives as they share the wonder working power? I love to hear and celebrate God’s amazing power in the lives of those around us!

ONCE UPON A TIME…..
Before the day had barely begun, she was ready to call it a day. Fatigue and pain was setting in. Running to her sustenance for fuel, she laid across her bed, crying out, once again to her Savior for strength, help, provision, peace, and joy for the day.

She had never done this before. She asked her boys to consider. She had just taken a pill for the pain, should we stay home? Or persevere and head out on our weekly deliveries? Her youngest said: “persevere today mom”, as he laid his hand on her, praying and pleading for healing. He expressed how heartbroken he would be to NOT serve the elderly their meals this day. Her oldest said the most beautiful thing (as it has been her words to him, what seemed a zillion times): “I think you should persevere”.

Just before heading out her pain was diminishing, and her camera caught her eye as she had glanced that direction. Seeing it was a pretty decent Spring day she considered perhaps there might be a beautiful sight to capture. (she would discover later, this was the Holy Spirit directing her thoughts and steps – His grace showing up).

Half way through their city route, her oldest was now officially in combat against the brutal enemy of pollen take over! Desperately itching, painful eyes, and congestion upon congestion.  She witnessed something amazing. He wasn’t complaining! She was witnessing God’s grace! He smiled, he had joy, he had God’s grace! And God was showing her how He is shaping him one day at a time into a strong young man.

Wrapping up with one last stop, her youngest pointed to a field. Her passionate, wild life explorer, lover of God’s creation had spotted a coyote. Get the camera!!!!! Whipping back and forth and turning around a few times, she made her way to a closer view.  Somehow, by God’s grace, on a normally chaotic street of rushing traffic, there was no traffic momentarily.  This  gave way for an opportunity to sit for a moment on the road, view the creature leap, in attempt to snag himself a meal.  Picture was snapped (blurry but doable).

God’s grace……

For every day that this mom wakes doubting whether she is doing enough and whether her children are getting all that they need in academics, and life – God’s grace sweeps in – confirming yes she is weak to this call and vision He has for her family, but He is the daily grace and power in her weakness, made perfect for His glory.

The Amazing Coyote Adventure, by: Wild Man, M. Z. S. was written later that day. And just before days end, as big brother laid on the couch with puffy, red raccoon, bright red eyes, and still not one complaint – little brother said with all compassion. “brother I could make some mud like Jesus did, and put it in your eyes and pray for you”.

God’s gracious finishing touches on the day ended with reflecting on the POWER of God revealed in human weakness as bibles were turned to John 9:12 “Jesus answered, Neither this man (born blind) nor his parents sinned , but that the works of God should be revealed in him…When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam So he went and washed, and came back seeing.”

Have you experienced God’s grace today? Have you seen miracles in the ordinary things in life? What are they? I’d love to share in the wonderful works of God.
