The Harvest is Near

What a joy to walk out to our backyard on a late September morning and do devotionals with our boys by our white pumpkin patch.  And how blessed to snap this shot of the “light” shining down on this little, flourishing pumpkin.

PATCH = the world

WHITE PUMPKINS = The life of the followers of Christ.  Sins washed away, white as snow. The children of the kingdom – praise Jesus-waiting to be harvested out of this world into heaven for all eternity! “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow..” Isaiah 1:18

GROWING PUMPKINS = Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. He who has begun a good work will be faithful to complete it.   2 Peter 3:18, Philippians 1:6

WEEDS = sin and those who have not repented, and confessed their need for the Savior, who choose their own way – which leads to death, destruction.

LIGHT = God’s GLORIOUS LIGHT!!!  “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”  1 Peter 2:9

His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

THEN THE RIGHTEOUS WILL SHINE LIKE THE SUN IN THE KINGDOM OF THEIR FATHER. Whoever has ears, let them hear. Matthew 13:36-43

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved….” Acts 16:31
