The Highway to Our God

Children are a blessing.

An absolute gift from God Almighty. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE teaching my sons.

There are endless opportunities to teach, with a relational heart of love. Look at Jesus in the scriptures. He walked with His disciples. They wanted to learn.

They did not always understand it right away. Neither do we.  Neither do our children.  Repetition is key.  Jesus is very patient.  “Lord make me like you”.

Jesus, the great example of love, sacrifice, serving, humble, and strong, correcting those in opposition, rebuking, teaching the way to EVERLASTING life.
We are gifted with our children, made by God. As believers we are saved because of Jesus Great love and sacrifice.

He is Lord of our lives. He commanded that we are AMBASSADORS of Christ the King, and that we are to go out into the world to preach the gospel.

This starts in our own hearts as parents, and then our living out the gospel of love and sacrifice in serving our spouses, serving, discipling our children. Pointing our children to the way of everlasting life.

The Bible has been our prominent book. We teach life skills from at home speech therapy, brain integration therapy, cognitive counseling teaching skills, to a academics, to our latest endeavor, praise be to God, DRIVERS SCHOOL, all saturated in prayer, faith in God, and by His EVERY WORD.

It’s not rocket science was our at home speech therapy book when Isaac was little. That title hit me profoundly. As I looked inside, what I found was RELATIONSHIP!!! Talking, being with, guiding, teaching, pointing, this is not just speech therapy, this is living life according to the scriptures.

Every other so called therapy has been bound up in a life of biblical principles, dying to self, sacrifice, loving God, loving our nearest neighbors, our family.
Why? Because nothing matters more than the eternal well being of souls. We equip them for life, by IMMANUEL GOD WITH US IN EVERY DETAIL OF OUR LIFE.

Apart from Him we can do nothing.

Is it easy? No. Christ Jesus came to save us, this was not easy, but rather a brutally difficult sacrifice like none other.

However He did it with JOY. INCREDIBLE!!!With JOY, He endured the cross, in order to give life to those who will receive. (Heb. 12:2)
Be imitators of Christ…walk in love. Our high calling of motherhood.

With JOY, endure the painful, yet ever important denying ourselves, -all fears, doubts, distractions, self fulfilling pleasures of this world,

and follow Jesus by His power within, to serve the Lord, serve our families, and beyond as He calls in various seasons.

I was just taking Isaac so he could practice driving today. I admit, it’s a dreary morning, some burdens upon me, however I am grateful God tells me to deny my flesh, and push harder. My husband told me to have fun. That struck me. Yes, HAVE FUN. Be blessed by this time out with my son.

Okay. So ya know. Anxiety is an issue when sitting in the passenger side, teaching a newbie. However, I am DETERMINED THIS WILL NOT deter me from teaching my son who I am so blessed to teach. I am determined to invite Jesus to rule me, not anxiety. Jesus wins!

So this fine morning, the PEACE OF GOD with WISDOM filled me and him! Just what we asked God for before we headed out.

I was so blessed, to see his incredible progress as well. Confident, focused. Driving through our downtown Gresham for weeks, each time adding one more street to our route.

It’s amazing how far he has come. Thank You Jesus.

To arrive back home, where Maximus took on a new way to study the Bible. I want my sons to be able to pick up the pure word of God, with a notepad, and pen, and no extra guides, and be able to study for themselves and be taught by the Lord.

While they are saturated in many ways through scripture memory, quiet reading of one particular book, family reading and discussion, this method is a new one Max used today. It went so well, and I am excited for both of them to take up this as a regular way to study and apply in their personal study time.

I know what great sinners we are, and what a GREAT SAVIOR we have been GIVEN. We are forgiven and been given eternal life. We have been given much.
There is a JOY that is given to every believer. Forgiven. And given life. We are citizens of His Kingdom. Yet living and learning here, growing in His plans and purposes, walking by faith, not knowing what’s next, but knowing God goes before us.

There is something so rich and wonderful in trusting Christ Jesus as Lord.  I love teaching my sons. I love seeing God take me from weak, weary, and all my fleshly emotions, and distractions, and put me on His path, give me ability, in His Spirit Who continually reminds me of His presence and help for all times.
Seeing Him conquer our flesh. Glory!

What are you facing that feels too much? Who do you look to that you can count on and fully trust to help you in your calling?

Who has God placed in your life to encourage (give courage) that in Christ’s power, in obedience, faith, you can do all He has called you to do?

When you are in the thick of difficulties, do you rely on Jesus Christ, and His every Word? Do you enter the throne room in heaven , believing He hears your prayers.

If you have received Christ as Lord, you are a child of God. You have free access by His Amazing grace to enter into prayer and communication with the Lord of heaven. You have been given a Bible straight from God in heaven to guide you in raising your children, in living life in your calling from season to season.

It will always be a temptation for our flesh to become complacent. Be aware. Press in harder. Seek for more! Ask the Lord for it, and receive!

Be blessed today.

We are on a mission.  A highway, that leads to everlasting life, blessing, and abundance forever with our King…

“And a highway will be there;
    it will be called the Way of Holiness;
    it will be for those who walk on that Way….

But only the redeemed will walk there,
   and those the Lord has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
    everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
    and sorrow and sighing will flee away”.

Isaiah 35
