The Lord IS Peace

I am writing this quickly.  So please excuse, any lacking in my “editing”, the flow of this writing.  I wrote in text to a friend today.  Not only a friend, but a fellow Sister in Jesus Christ.

I am writing now to you my friend.  Wanting to share the thoughts on my morning heart.  That I may carry this throughout all my day, and pass onto you.

I just read again about God commanding Gideon to “go”.  In Judges Chapter 6.  The battle, seemed completely impossible.  The odds were stacked against Gideon.  In comparison to who he was and what he had in all human perspective was “pittance”.  But God told him to “go”.  Gideon acknowledged how weak he was.  He acknowledged how others perceived him in his line in the family as weak.  But Gideon had faith, and obeyed.

God was gracious, oh so gracious to Gideon.  God reassured him over and over and over again, that He was indeed, calling yes-him!  God reassured Gideon that He was with him.

And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you…” (Judges 6:16)

Then the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you…” (Judges 6:23)

God will be with him, peace will be with him.  Because God is peace.

So, Gideon’s next action was to build an altar right  there in that very spot, to the Lord.  He called it  The-LordIs-Peace. (Judges 6:24)

Eventually. There was victory over a seemingly impossible battle.

I was so blessed to read this again today.  I relate with Gideon.  I love the reassuring kindness of the Lord every step of the way. Reassurance is huge for me.  Believers get our assurance, and reassurance in and through the Lord, and through His powerful Word on the pages of scripture.

Gideon was obedient.  He looked to God for the reassurance. That is faith!

I know I wrestle with doubts, confusion, when overwhelmed by so much upon me from every direction.  I will take steps of faith, and then I will doubt and wrestle, and look again in faith to God to know – yes this is what He called me to, and get the confidence in the Scriptures to carry on.  I desire to be more full of faith.  As I look to Him, He DOES reassure me, as I seek to please Him, He gives me strength.  In HIS faithfulness, He gives me faith to go and believe in Him.

As I yearn for peace through all times in my daily life, I was encouraged by Gideon’s actions.  And God’s grace and faithfulness.

Like Gideon, I started out the day, setting up this “altar” to proclaim, “The LORD IS PEACE”.  This candle.  The Japanese symbol on it – PEACE.

Only the LORD is TRUE PEACE.  And only a truly saved soul, who has acknowledged TRUTH that Christ the Lord came to bring peace not in this world, but to a lost soul, for the world and Kingdom to come.   Christ Jesus Came to save.  Save from sin, death, hell, eternal destruction.  He came to give peace with God, now and forevermore.

I am certain, that we all desire peace.  We may find peace in a moment here or there.  People may put their dependence on peace in the temporary satisfying ways of this  temporal world.   I know the things of this earth never satisfy.  Our cravings for peace, if we really seek Him, we realize our desire will only be fulfilled in GOD alone through the saving of our soul.

As we can see, this world is not a place of peace. God has been gracious to give blessings and offers true peace in Jesus.  I am certain the devil is on a prowl to give false hope, false peace, false belief, in order to take souls to forever torment with forever, the complete opposite of peace, because the bible tells me so.

TRUTH.  PEACE. LIFE.  Jesus is God and is from beginning to end of the pages of the bible.  Satan is real, a liar, and the Father of lies.  This world is opposite of peace, and Jesus is coming again for His own.  Those who will obey the call, and repent, turn, and receive Him as Lord will experience life and peace forevermore.

This world will be difficult to live in for all people.  But how wonderful, as Gideon, no matter the difficulties we face, as Believers we can face them, and walk through them – with a satisfying knowing that Jesus our peace is walking right with us, and through Him we have the victory.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His spirit, washed in His blood
Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior, am happy and blessed
Watching and waiting, looking above
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love,
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,  through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[ boast in the hope of the glory of God.” Rom. 5:1-2

“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
