This Broken Earthly Vessel – Useful

This little candle holder was broken today.  I was upset for about a half of a second.  I picked it up and immediately I thought about my own life, and many scriptures.  I would use this incident to point to Christ.  Yes, this broken moment, of an earthly treasure, God would immediately get my attention and remind me, of what He calls me to store up.  Heavenly treasures! So I would point to Him and share this with my family today.  So that we may reflect again on our heavenly treasures in Christ Jesus.  Every difficulty, broken heart, sorrow, and more, He will use in a Believer’s life. And when God makes good use, you better believe IT IS GOOD.

“All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my Word”. Is. 66:2

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them” Eph 2:10

The vessels useful and for honor are the ones purged of sin through Christ Jesus. “He shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Tim. 2:20

Psalms 51 – Is a cry of a heart who desires to be useful to His Creator and Lord. Wash me, purge me, create in me a clean heart. Restore me. Save me. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit a broken and contrite spirit. Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice” Ps. 51:8. Sin is a weight that crushes down. Jesus bore that weight of sin on the cross. Broken. He saved. Risen, again. He is Lord. He is able to save. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. ” 2 Cor. 4:6-12

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Ps. 34:18

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Ps. 147:3

Broken. Life in Christ. Pieced back together. Useful. Only by the Mighty hand and power of God. Look what God does with acknowledgement of a broken life, desiring to be restored by Him. Submitting to His hand. Even through the cracks that remain, the lights shines. He Who has begun a good work will be faithful to complete it. And we who are saved, and submitted to the Master’s hand over our life, we are created for good works, through His power that transcends all.

To tremble at God’s Word. “Oh Holy God. Amazing grace how sweet the sound who saved a wretch like me. Break my heart for what breaks yours. Continue to transform, in Your faithfulness. Make me useful by Your power. I am weak, You are strong. Your grace sufficient. Thank You Lord for Your kindness, that draws a sinner’s heart to repent and be saved. Thank You for the amazing grace that takes broken lives, and by Your every Word and command, heals, brings wholeness, and shines. In Jesus name, Amen”
