Isaac sent me this on Saturday when he and his brother and dad were on a little day trip. Today, the boys and I looked at the picture and each wrote observations. Each of us gathered a scripture to go with an observation. Together we came up with truths and promises, to reflect on from God’s Holy Word.
MOUNTAINS
“Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” Is. 54:10
Mountains have been shaken and removed, but the promises of God never break and remain forever. His kindness, mercy are with His children, His Church, each genuine Believer forever. Life changes. Seasons come and go. Christ Jesus is to be trusted- He never changes. He is Faithful to every promise – He is with us through it all, our Savior, Faithful Friend, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
HIGHWAY (Isaiah 35)
“A highway shall be there, and a road,
And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean shall not pass over it…
But the redeemed shall walk there,
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return,
And come to Zion with singing,
With everlasting joy on their heads.
They shall obtain joy and gladness,
And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”
It is a HIGHWAY OF HOLINESS AND HOPE
The highway of holiness is reserved for those who are righteous in God’s sight. Christ alone provides the way of holiness, having exchanged His perfect righteousness for our sin (2 Corinthians 5:21). His righteousness is imputed to us, enabling us to be holy, even as He is holy. The highway is reserved for His people alone.
So as we travel this highway, on our way to the Kingdom, as we look to His Promises, our Prince of Peace, we are given HOPE in parched lands, streams in the desert, we are given blessings and strength, a joy in our Savior to share of the blessed hope to all we meet. Praying others hop on the HIGHWAY through the gift of Jesus Christ. Traveling the highway looking to our destination – the Kingdom without end.
RIVER
The redeemed will enter glory, the Kingdom without end and see:
“And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever” Revelations 22
