WE WILL GET THERE WHEN JESUS SAYS. I will not sacrifice relationship and being in the center of God’s Sovereign will and care, by living in the rigidity of my own will and plans. Not going to force my will, my plans, at the expense of losing freedom, peace, and the greater picture of what God KNOWS He has in store for us to learn and grow in, for a greater good. There is a rest to be found! A freedom to experience as we trust in His leading. He is the keeper of our days. The keeper of our souls. Putting constraints of time, pushing on and hurrying up to get everything done, the determination to get to that allotted goal by a specific time, is not always productive. Then we are missing the greater importance of rest and beauty, in a faith walk of experiencing God’s perfect plan. Believers in Christ know we will reach our eternal destination on the very day He chooses to draw us into heaven. So we can certainly trust with every breath we intake, each goal we have set each day we are chosen to be here on this earth, will be achieved in His loving care, providence, and time. There is a PEACE so beautiful to experience. A rest so fulfilling. A freedom unspeakable in walking with Jesus in belief He is for us on this journey. He doesn’t want us to strive in fret, fear, worry and thus forcefully push hard to attempt to “gain” yet lose out in the sweet purposes of abiding and trusting in Him. Led by the Spirit. His will each day. Taking a detour from the plans we have, to submit to His. He rules and reigns.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
We carry burdens, Jesus does not want us to carry. We put boundaries on our days, with unnecessary rigid “to-do” lists. That often dictate and RULE us rather than give us the freedom Jesus offers. Our ultimate “to-do” list is to follow Jesus, wherever He leads. Obeying His commands. Seeking Him for proper balance for our body, minds. Jesus filling up souls as we dwell with our minds stayed on Him. It’s a discipline. Stress will wreak havoc on our whole being. Carrying loads, of condemnation, doubt, fear, worry, and so much more is not good for any part of our being. Taking each thought captive to obey Him. Listening to HIS voice and denying the conformity of the “standards” set by men’s futile minds, Jesus asks us to step outside of our “thinking” and trust where He leads us. As we let go, and rest in His love, in faith, we find, such incredible rest for our souls. We find freedom.
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…and be thankful” Col. 3:15
It’s hard to articulate for me, what this is all about. I have done my best to represent the heartfelt point I am trying to make in what God has been working on in me to refine to a greater degree of understanding and freedom. Sure there are plans. Things to be done. This isn’t about that. It’s FAR beyond into eternity, an understanding He has given me in the danger of “doing” rather than “being”. Seeking Him, with a listening ear, at His feet, all through my days to experience the LOVING, GRACIOUS, FREEDOM, He has wanted to give me, and HAS given me in REST.
“She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s FEET LISTENING to what he said. But Martha was DISTRACTED by all the preparation that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
