Who Me? Yes, “YOU” – Phil. 4:13

I am often asked if we take a break from school in summer. Hard one to answer. Because while we tone down aspects, there is always invitations to learn every single day. My son Maximus is writing a book set in Civil War time period, a flying reptile, battles to be won – physically and in mind and heart – Spiritual battles. Perseverance. A quest for truth all for love. Loyal friendship. God’s design. Including Old and New Testament messages. The Gospel. While, editing (still) 🙂, a question arose from him regarding Old Testament ways-laws. So he/we are now studying more in depth to understand Old Testament Laws and ways, the purpose, and so on. Never a break from learning, just a bit different flow…but not that much. This is what gives me immense joy in this educational process. 3 Jn. 1:4
Just thinking about…
When God made it clear we would homeschool our children, I would have never imagined doing such a thing. Let alone teach our son who had been born with a stroke? And then our other bundle of high powered energy?! Yes! I owned my fleshly weakness! Looked continually to the power of God, the truth of the Holy Spirit in me, and depended on His every Word in obedience, comfort, and promises.
Everytime I tried to “think” and “do” in my own understanding, God got my attention, slowed me down, and called me to surrender again, and follow His lead. His way. His timing. With the utmost focus on relationships. With one another in every aspect of life, and with Jesus! With understanding the scriptures, how to apply, and walking by faith, not by sight. God’s grace is sufficient, His power made perfect in weakness. I boast in the LORD. He is able.
Just sharing, when God calls you…He has called YOU. The enemy of “doubt” will pick at you. Make you look at your weakness in the flesh. I know! A few years ago, God added to my “calling” to be a care-giver to my mother-in-law, as she lives with us now. Who me? How? With my own physical limitations? With my husband’s spinal cord injury accident? (who now walks with me, and teamworks all of our life together – teaching our sons, caring for his mother-praise be to God!) Home-schooling teenagers and reaching their hearts. Helping them to achieve dreams and goals? Teaching them life skills? And you know, all the other ins and outs of issues of life.
BUT, Praise be to GOD! WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES US STRENGTH. Phil. 4:13
Push harder into TRUTH. Keep surrendering all. Keep making God, marriage, your home-family, the priority of everyday living. I have found myself convicted by the Lord, to commit myself more intently, more deeply into my call day by day. Serving Him with gladness. Letting go, following HIM. Praying and not giving up. Looking intently on JESUS. Seeing The TRUTH & LOVE WIN- His power within – JESUS!
And by His Holy Spirit He will teach you, teach your children, and leave you in awe and wonder with His loving faithfulness.
