ON MY KNEES, in submission (surrender to God), taking every Word out of His mouth (we’ve go to know His word) as truth and power.
“submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you”
James 4: 7 & 8
TAKE UP MY CROSS – “and he who does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for MY sake will find it” Matthew 10:38-39
Over my last 20 years as a Believer, God has asked me to let go. Continues to teach me what this verse truly means and I know He is not finished yet. It’s a regular basis He asks me to let go and trust Him for every detail of our lives – I am here to say, as I experience “lose my life” (letting go of the things of this world) for His sake, I TRULY find more life than I could have ever dreamed of – peace, contentment, joy, strength…..
GUARD – “Guard what was committed to your trust!” 1 Timothy 6:20
The enemy is sneakier than sneakier than we want to believe. He will use any means, any tactic to attack us in hopes to draw us away from God and closer to his ways, the ways of the world – which leads to death!
He will distract us any way he can – through relationships, busyness, desires, and more… even the “good” things but chosen out of our own will and not submitted to God’s will he will use to wreak havoc on God’s priceless gift of marriage and family.
“be sober, be watchful, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
The enemy knows full well the vision God gave us for our family when I was still yet pregnant with our precious Isaac.. it’s a vision to make a “new life” under the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit for His glory and honor – to turn away from the sin and live in the now for HIM for an eternal reward of seeing Him face to face!
PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR -The enemy has worked over time to attempt to condemn, in hopes to destroy our future. . He has his weapons of of the mind that come in all forms…”no weapons formed against me shall prosper” – Jesus lifts me up,equips me with the Full Armor of God (Ephesians 6), I get up, stand, I fight even harder as I draw nearer and nearer to Him (and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom -2 Cor. 3:17)
Beth Moore writes:
“God could exhale the next breath and blow Satan to oblivion like a million shards of glass. The Father lets Satan exist and exert power and influence until Kingdom purposes are served. Satan is smart, vicious, and sly, but spiritually speaking, he also has a collar on his neck and a leash on his back, held tightly and rightly by the sovereign hand of God. ”
I get that! In the midst of the blows God is working it all for good in order for His Kingdom purposes to be completed!
As Beth Moore would describe:
“put your sweet self under God. Entirely. No arms and legs kicking out to the sides. Knees to floor. Eyes to skies. Hands open wide. Death to your pride. Here we run aground on the reason the Devil flees. He doesn’t flee from us, Beloved. He runs from God who is standing right there over us every time we submit. Take off your shoes. That’s holy ground.” ~Beth Moore
CRY OUT TO HIM -I cry out to Him regularly, ask Him to create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit once again in me, claim His truth that He is in control, and listen to His spirit that says… “fight the good fight and finish the race”
PRAY – Never stop praying, pray all the time about everything in the good, the bad, every detail of our lives – “pray without ceasing” 1 Thess. 5:17
REMEMBER – Remember who is the focus – GOD! Fix our eyes, thoughts, desires on Him…. He wins!
“Yours, O Lord is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and on earth is yours (including our family), Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all. And You reign over all…Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.”
1 Chronicles 29:11-13
I really love this post. Great job writing it. Reminds me of this scripture in 2 Corinthians 4 7-9. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.
Good verse,Lori:)
