As I stirred this first time apple butter recipe this afternoon, I felt a bit heavy in my thoughts. I began to worship God with a beautiful rendition of Create In Me A Clean Heart oh God and Renew A Right Spirit within me. (Ps. 51:10-19) What an awesome time of hanging out with my sons in the kitchen, and connecting richly with the Lord! It was so cleansing to sing this to my Savior. Such freedom in His Love.
This recipe is so incredibly delicious. Not only tasty, but the fragrance of spices permeated the home. Beyond this, I am so grateful for the fragrance of Christ, His convicting, cleansing, freeing love, that permeates and sets a heart right and into His presence.
I am thankful for this honey wheat bread and apple butter made from scratch. That I was able to worship the Lord while my hands worked to bless my family. All the ways in which we serve those in our household – oh the Lord blesses. “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us– yes, establish the work of our hands.” Ps. 90:17 It ALL matters to Him.
We cannot live on bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matt. 4:4) Taste and see the Lord is good. (Ps. 34:8)
“Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings”
Psalms 17:8
Oh the sweetness of knowing – The loving provision, care, and protection of the Heavenly Father. Knowing Christ Jesus the Lord as our our Personal Savior, Who daily loads us with benefits. Praise to God and King.
