A Passover Seder Meal

Threw down Passover Seder Meal with our own little adds, etc. Seder means order. I really love that God is a God of order.
From Old Testament symbolism the rescue of God’s people out of Egypt and requirement of blood sacrifice for atonement, to the New Covenant through Jesus Christ the Messiah, Lord, the Perfect Lamb of God-Rescuer. A few years ago we were blessed to attend a Messianic Jewish Passover Seder. Two years ago I organized one for our family.
Thanks to my husband who helped me pull this together tonight, as I was not sure I would have energy to do it. EVERY SINGLE piece of food and drink is symbolism for God’s redeeming work OT pointing to New, through the ultimate blood sacrifice Jesus the Lamb of God and His great love.
Matza,Unleavened bread. Spices-on many things including this Mediterranean roasted carrot recipe-reflecting on the spices the women wrapped Jesus body in when he was placed in the tomb.
Bitter herbs-sin. Salt water-tears over sin and bondage-The crossing of the Red Sea. The “lamb” bone for OT sacrifice. To the CROSS- the once for all sacrifice.
Charoseth-The reminder of the mortar used for bricks and building as slaves, and then the sweetness of apples, nuts, honey -sweetness of Redemption.
The RISEN LOAF OF BREAD-Jesus is risen. He is the bread of life.
The fish- Jesus is a Fisher of men, drawing people to Him, out of this world and into His Kingdom, and calls us to be fisher of men-share the gospel. (I could go on..so much detail).
Isaac has always loved the thought of after Jesus’ resurrection he was found cooking fish for breakfast for His disciples who were so excited to see him on shore and eagerly rushed from their boat to eat with the Risen Lord. Just to think of sitting with Jesus in that setting, makes it real and relational for Isaac. Jesus the Master. Savior. Friend. What a loving God. Offering life to all who will “come follow Me”.
“knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; …you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 6:9-11
Thankful for the gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ our Risen Lord!
