Summer Journals – Keep On Learning – God’s Word is Life

The world is dying.  I shall not fear.  God’s Word has given me life.  And it is the gift that ONLY keeps on giving.  So I keep receiving it daily by the gracious Lord in the gift of my bible.  I keep teaching it, sharing it, with our sons, and giving it to them with immense JOY as a great gift should be given.

“This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life” Ps. 119:50

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”  1 Jn. 2:17

So much currently going on in the world that can leave a person distraught.  While we have put our more so-called formal school away for the summer,  and might I say, not much is “formal” for us here in this Spirit led learning minute to minute day by day, but…

As the bible has been the super duper power source centerpiece of our schooling for so many years, it is a gift more and more in the current events of this dark world.  I mean, to be lit on fire by the Holy Scriptures more and more, it’s awesome!

God impressed on my heart the other day, to buy these .58 cent notebooks and make them our Summer Scripture Journaling project.

We need God’s Word to hold us together.  We want more than anything to have as much of the scriptures imbedded in our hearts, minds, and souls.  This, can NEVER EVER be taken from us!  In fact, it can only be multiplied by the Great Author, Creator, Father in Heaven, Savior, King of Kings and Lord and LORDS of the Scriptures – OUR SALVATION.

So, let’s do this boys!

  1. Write at least one, if not more, scripture a day in cursive.
  2. Write how it might be applied at this moment in time in your life.
  3. Write a prayer to your Heavenly Father, using at least one aspect of your scripture to ask, thank,  help to apply it personally as in relation to your own personal growth, faith, life.
  4. Write something you are thankful for.

As much as possible this will be a daily assignment.  Each day they will open their notebooks, read through every scripture already there, and add to it!  That simple.  That powerful.

As we went about writing our scriptures, the wonderful idea came to me to make some fun art to use as our journal covers.  Nothing fancy.  Just super fun to break out a new classic spirograph and go to work. Yes, I even, teacher mama, am doing my own journal along with them.  As I teach, I am learning so very much!  God teaches me daily.  It’s powerful to be taught by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

“Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against You” Ps. 119:11

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.  Do everything in love” 1 Cor. 16:13-14

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 cor. 5:20

“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”  Jn. 14:26

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 5:13
