Thankful For the Tears

“be thankful in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”

Sometimes all of the parts of life that are a great concern of our hearts,  wells up so full with emotional intensity, and it just needs to spill out, and tears are a way for release.

We can live a full life of Thanksgiving, and simultaneously shed tears in moments necessary, knowing the gift even in this, worthy to say to our Lord:  “thank you”

The Bible is filled with stories and  accounts of the strong people of faith crying out to God in their day of trouble.

There is a time…

“A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance” (Ecclesiastes 3:4).
In a difficult world, tears are apart of life that refresh and restore

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry” (Psalm 34:15)
God sees it all.  Is attentive and fully intuned, and with us in it.

“When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled…Jesus wept” (John 11:33, 35).
Jesus knows. Has lived it.

“Put my tears in Your bottle” Psalm 56:8
God remembers.  Our tears matter. For the believer, even these are not wasted.

I love these verses:

“Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
 Those who go out weeping,
    carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
    carrying sheaves with them.”

Ps. 126:5-6

As I let out my tears and bring them before God in heaven, I am given the hope of the many scriptures including these verses.  There is profit in this.  There is reward.  Even this is a labor of love before God.  I care about the things that matter to God.  I understand that I continue opening myself to Him to work out my own sanctifying process as a Believer, which I desire so very much.  I understand I am here for a purpose, to be transformed by Him,  to serve Him and others.  He however, is the ONE and ONLY to cause the increase.  I am just an empty vessel, filled by Him,  He works through to do His will and purposes.  I am nothing, He is everything. He gets the glory.

As I submit myself to Him, and all others and cares upon my heart, I am given the gift to release these bound up emotions through the outward display of tears.  The Lord stirs up my heart and calls me to “let go”, and trust HIM.  I am not only releasing my tears, but releasing-“letting go” again, of the things I cannot control, and surrender to the ONE WHO is INDEED fully in control, able.  He blesses the sowing of His Word, the sowing of tears, the sowing of prayers, into my own personal life, and the lives around.  It is HIS Word.  His power.  His glory.

Believers, we should trust in Him.  Faithful He is. Faithful to His Word.

So I began this writing because a friend texted to ask “how are you doing today?”.  I answered, with “I am filled with emotions and teary today”

It was good to share this honest place.  It was good to reciprocate genuine love, without any ounce of superficiality.

So “how are you today?”  I hope you know the love of Jesus.  I hope you know His saving power.  I hope you know the strength He gives, the comfort and love.  I hope you have a genuine relationship with Him.  He is the friend of all friends. He will place people in your path to offer a genuine relationship in fellowship in Him.

I hope you know today, your tears matter.  As we cast our cares upon Him, we can rise up in Christ the Lord’s resurrection power and sing for joy once again.

“From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.”

Ps. 113:3
