Valiant Ones

I am reading a Christian allegory, with a character referred to as Mrs. Valiant, who came to the rescue of a character desiring to break free of fears and walk in greater faith. I considered the Valiant ones God has placed in my life throughout a personal journey to be transformed from fears, doubts, to faith.

Some synonyms for Valiant, are courgeous, bold, heroic.

It takes a lot of courage to tell the truth to an already hurting, desperate, soul. But truth brings forth light, and I was desperate for the Light. Desperate for truth.

It was the deepest desire of my heart. This truth, that leads to light, and sets captives free. I thank God for the valiant contributions by others He has placed in my path. These are people who saw inside of me, and spoke truth to what they saw. They saw my longing for more of Jesus, and the torment, fears and crippled places of my heart.

17 years ago began the real journey for me to break away from crippling fear and walk in greater faith. I have had several Mr. and Mrs. Valiants in my life. Too many to share here. I will share a few.

One, at the very beginning, who has been in my life for now over 35 years. At just the right opportunity a sharing of an initial truth sparked an awakening to my soul. This set me up to persevere towards healing and freedom. Few years later another, with more truth, in what must have been a real hard thing to do, but knew I was seeking, asking and desiring this truth that was so necessary. This valiant person also gave wisdom, warning, LOVE -strength to go on. It didn’t hurt me, it made me grateful, determined to take this truth and persevere for more.

Later another, came. Help in just the perfect way and time that cheered me on, gave to me and my family, in spite of her own physical weakness to meet a physical, spiritual and emotional need of our own. God’s instrument to communicate to the depths of my deepest longing… “I am not alone”.

Years later, another, who saw straight into my heart and this time, DID NOT see fear, even though the doubts, and fear were still apart of my continued journey, but no longer ruling me. In a time, I felt “alone” in still certain circumstances of my life, she saw FAITH. Pointing me onward to greater faith. A rescuer of another lonely place, a friend to walk with me. Encouraging each other on in faith and good works.

There have been many.

I must make sure to speak of my beloved husband. In many specific areas, the courageous one in my worst moment and then another moment of doubts, spoke encouragement, over and over, and pointed me to the power I have in the Savior and His ability-cheering me on to just keep going.

I imagine and see this path, with God’s almighty hand coming down from heaven above, strategically placing each valiant one where He wanted them. A path that winds, turns, as it goes this way and that. I see each valiant person, strategically standing in various places along the path, pointing. Poining, pointing, go this way, directing me on. I see the path going onward and going straight to the Kingdom awaiting, where I know I will be arriving along with these valiant ones. Even if, the time together here on earth for a short time and purpose, we will be together for all time in eternity.

When we seek Him with all our heart, God will point the way, and provide all we need to continue the journey to the kingdom. He provides His Word. Jesus the Light speaks through the scriptures to guide us as a lamp unto our feet. The Ultimate Valiant Rescuer from heaven, Who lives in the hearts of those that place their trust in Him. Who also, works through His people to encourage each other on to good works.

“Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the Lord do that which is good in his sight.” 1 Chron. 19:13
